Soft, beautiful and fragrant, but super invasive. Over the past 8 months we have dug, pulled and wrenched out hundreds of these deep and vigorous roots.
Actually I’m amazed at your progress deleting all that mature fennel. Having run into it many times myself, I think the problem was bad enough to send most gardeners screaming and running away.

Woah, how did you even get that thing out of the ground?? I feel like dandelions have a similar monster-root situation going on, and I am forever digging up tiny dandelion plants with a foot-long gnarly root.
